Bravery Park, 2018
Bravery Park has a goal to honour Canadian soldiers, who keep our country safe, by building parks across Canada. The organizers of this amazing project held a contest for the winners design to be featured on the first built park. The chosen design depicts a soldier with their head bowed in front of a maple leaf to symbolize that they are Canadian. I wanted to include all genders of soldiers by creating the silhouette on the back of the neck to be viewed as hair or a collar shape. The maple leaf fades into doves to express that Canadian soldiers spread peace across the globe. It was important to symbolize the mission of Bravery Park in the design and to honour those it represents. The design is currently on display at Bravery Park in Orangeville, Ontario.
