When asking the two portrayed about their genealogical backgrounds they both grew up moving to many different locations. Due to the fact each individual had moved to a wide range of places, I wanted to create a drawing that captured movement. To create this effect, I decided to overlap two reference images. I then attempted to create realistic drawings of the two using graphite pencil. This was my first attempt at creating realistic graphite pencil drawings, having only previously used charcoal. Although there are areas that I find do not work well I am pleasantly surprised at the outcome. The contrast and resemblance to my reference I feel works to enhance my desired outcome.
