These cat woodcut prints are a science based DNA exploration of my rescue cat Abo. After receiving the results of my cats DNA makeup, I decided to carve a block for each listed type of cat. This included Siberian, Persian, British shorthair, Khao Manee, Korat, American domestic, Siamese, Kenyan street cat and Abo. This was also a project based upon material exploration. I have always wanted to try woodcut printmaking after I was exposed to linocut. This was the perfect opportunity to focus on carving techniques that could also give a fur texture using the wood grain.
