This is a completely finger painted self-portrait based upon animal symbolism as a reflection of my current self. The Baltimore Oriole represents finding balance, and joy. The rabbit represents goodluck, sensitivity, new beginnings, and gentleness. The milksnake represents change is necessary, healing, and protection. The mouse represents resourcefulness, conservativeness, and silence. The butterfly fish represents guidance, life cycles, transformation, and happiness.

I created hybrids between humans and animals, specifically a rat, rabbit, and pig in response to man made hybrids. I used the human form and another animal form to create the subject matter of the artwork. There are parts of human form added throughout the piece as a whole. The inspiration of this concept was the science and ideology behind human and animal hybrids. Reviewing lab made hybrids, specifically hybrids created between human and animal DNA. This explores ideas from technocentrism where people believe humans have control over nature and where humans are abusing nature and animal species for gain in invention and human needs.
